English Pokemon names

Another set of english names has been revealed; these are for the four pokemon that were revealed in CoroCoro this week along with information on the other things shown. Firstly the video showing off the new Pokemon

The first of these Pokemon is the Lion Cub pokemon; now known as Litleo; the pokemon website states that it is a hot blooded pokemon; its mane burns hotter and hotter, the stronger its opponent is.

Next we have Flabebe (with accents over both E's) the fairy pokemon; this pokemon clings to a flower early on and cares for it for its whole life. Some appear on different coloured flowers.

The next pokemon is Scatterbug; the first form of Vivillon; the fur around its next controls it body temperature; it resides mostly in forests and wild plains where it will eventually evolve into.....

Spewpa! Like Caterpie and others before it; this is the early bug pokemon, so Scatterbug evolves into Spewpa which evolves into Vivillon. It says Spewpa gains a stiff carapace once it evolves, so less forceful attacks will hardly make a scratch to it.

The names of the heroes and the people from Vaniville town, the starting town in the game. All four of these characters will get a pokedex and a pokemon along with you according to the pokemon main website.

Firstly; it shows in screenshots that the heroes names are Xavier and Yvonne for the boy and the girl; however which ever gender you choose to play the other appears as a rival as Calum and Serena. So those will likely be there names. Calum or Serena is your next door neighbour in Vaniville town and will constantly test you throughout your journey.

Difference between Serena and Calum and the actual heroes is they don't have the hats, so maybe they are classed as different characters and will be Xavier and Yvonne as shown.

The first of the characters is Shauna; she is an energetic girl that is trying to find a dream of her own.

The second is Tierno; which means cute/caring in Spanish. He is a caring person who is trying to make a Pokemon dance team; he is strong, kind and light on his feet; he gets distracted easily watching his opponents moves and seeing what he can incorporate into his routines. This could also suggest a new type of mini-game/side quest, like musicals and contests.

Thirdly there is Trevor; he is an inquisitive young boy and a great student. He is the one to give you the pokedex and compares it with you regularly; he is competing to see who can complete it first.

For the gym leader; she keeps the name Viola and is the gym leader of Santalune City. She is also a professional Pokemon Photographer.

Her older sister Alexa is also part of the group; she was known as Pansy in Japan. She will guide you towards the gym.

Pokemon X/Y even more information!

Last night; the creators of Pokemon did a round table discussion at E3. They covered a lot of information that is already known along with new information!

First and foremost; the new Pokemon, three new Pokemon were shown in the small trailer shown last night

Introducing

Talonflame (Talon + Flame); this Pokemon evolves from the Robin Pokemon Fletchling and becomes a Fire/Flying type! This is the first regional bird to do so with the rest staying Normal/Flying. Talonflame is said to gain a new level of speed and firepower; it dives at its foes and attacks with devastating kicks.

Next up we have Clauncher (Claw + Launcher); it is a water type pokemon and based on a Lobster. It is recognisable by its large claw. It uses it to seize prey and blast them with projectiles. Possibly a Water/Fire on evolution perhaps?

Lastly we have Skrelp (possibly Scrap + Kelp); it is a poison/water type pokemon and is based on a seahorse; it wraps itself in seaweed and kelp to hide itself from prey; then bathes them with poison when they get too close.

Another interesting feature was that they showed how friends are doing in the game; that you can register and see what they are doing. Whilst this is cool; it is great to see the customisation options for your character!

Also another feature that is kind of cool; is the player has the option to choose what language they play their game in.

Two new battle styles have been shown; the first is Sky Battle's; if the player has a flying type or a pokemon with levitate they are able to participate in these battles; at the moment they just seem to be the same style but higher above the ground; so it will be interesting to see if they add any different mechanics to this.

The second is very interesting; they are called Horde Battles; in these battles it is on of your pokemon vs 5 pokemon. Although this could change in number depending on the area. Whilst this is cool; it could be a bit of a hassle at times; but at the same time, great for training with fighting five pokemon at once.

However whilst writing this; CoroCoro began to leak and even more information has come to light!

The first pokemon is the lion cub Pokemon known as Shishiko; it is Fire/Normal type. It has a move called battle cry; which lowers the opponents attack

Next we have another new pokemon called Furabebe; it is the lone flower pokemon and is pure fairy type; despite it sitting on a flower. It learns Fairy Wind; which Gardevoir was also shown learning.

The next two are pre-evolutions of Vivillon; it is most likely Spewpa is the middle form but until the english names are confirmed they are known as. Kofukimushi and Kofuurai.

Along with this some characters were shown and some information based on the starting town.

The player character has just moved to the town of Asame; where they meet the other gender character (Callum or Sereena for the Japanese names; depending which gender you pick); there are also three other characters there. Sana, Tieruno and Toroba; but what they do isn't mentioned.

The two characters above are

Viola who is the girl on the right; she is a bug type gym leader of Hakudan city

Pansy is the other girl; she has a Gogoat and a Helioptile and is set to appear in the anime in July

That is it for now; but will update when english names are revealed for pokemon, towns and characters.

Kingdom Hearts III quick overview

E3 2013 has brought many fantastic new games to light as well as great technology. With this there have been many surprise announcements; and two of these games came in the form of Kingdom Hearts III now in development and Final Fantasy XV; which is the rebranded Versus XIII.

Today we will be covering Kingdom Hearts III; this game has been a long time coming in the Kingdom Hearts series; with the Xehanort Saga spanning seven games already but all linked to bring it to an epic conclusion. The game is being developed for both Playstation 4 and X-Box One

The story of Kingdom Hearts III follows on from where the last game Dream Drop Distance finished off. After a big showdown with the current XII darkness’s; it was learnt that to make the X-blade there had to be 7 lights and 13 darkness’s and a new Keyblade war was coming. Mickey points out that he, Sora, Riku, Aqua, Ven and Terra are 6 of the lights and later we learn that Kairi is the seventh having accidentally performed the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony was Aqua back in Birth by Sleep.

It is unknown who all the 13 Darknesses are but the ones shown were Xehonort, Young Xehanort, Ansem, Xemnas, Isa and Braig. The rest remained hooded; this could mean the rest of the organisation that were not shown in DDD are the rest or it is members we do not know yet.

After these events we learnt that Riku passed the Mark of Mastery exam and is now a Master; Sora failed but is elated that his best friend could pass it, Lea unlocked the ability to use the Keyblade and Kairi was brought in to learn how wield it.

It shows that Aqua is still in the world of Darkness, Terra is still under Xehanort’s control and Ven is still locked in Castle Oblivion with his heart still inside Sora.

It is also discussed that to get to Kingdom Hearts; the seven princesses will be needed, so it will be going back to events that occurred in Kingdom Hearts 1.

The trailer that was released; did not show a lot, however it originally showed quick events from all the past games, leading up to Sora picking up the Keyblade that Master Eraqus used on the beach of Destiny Islands. This Keyblade was last seen in the possession of Aqua and now it was shown with Sora; so this could mean, someone else planted the Keyblade; Perhaps Terra? Or the Keyblade found its way to Sora to help him on his new quest.

The logo is then shown; and afterwards, it gives a bit of gameplay with Sora running away from a swarm of Shadow’s in Twilight Town as he jumps off walls and eventually goes to attack them.

A bit of the story was confirmed by Square-Enix during press events at E3

Both Sora and Riku are fighting to stop Master Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts III. The series’ supervillain wants to start a war against the tyranny of light, which Xehanort believes will restore equilibrium of light and darkness.

Sora, Donald, and Goofy set out to search for the Seven Guardians of Light and the Key to Return Hearts. Meanwhile, Riku and Mickey are on a different quest looking for previous Keyblade wielders.

Square Enix wouldn’t confirm which worlds will be in Kingdom Hearts, but a representative from Disney said the game will feature worlds unseen in the franchise. I asked Shinji Hashimoto if Pixar worlds would be in the game and he said he couldn’t comment on the topic at this time.’

http://www.siliconera.com/2013/06/12/sora-has-to-search-for-seven-guardians-of-light-in-kingdom-hearts-iii/

With this we now have a good idea of how the story continued on from Dream Drop Distance; Sora is going out to find the seven lights, so that’ll likely be the princesses of Heart; one they already have, being Kairi, so the rest might be missing or Sora is finding them to take back to Yen Sid.

Riku and Mickey’s part was to be expected; Mickey would know how to open the Door to Darkness and get into that world with him being there before and they need Aqua to save Ven and they will most likely need both of them to save Terra. So this will be interesting to see how they plan on rescuing the old heroes and possibly Master Eraqus in the process; who’s Heart is still inside Terra’s body.

This could also mean there are separate parts; where you play as Sora and Riku; allowing a greater amount of worlds to be put in.

Now as mentioned above; Square Enix did not mention what worlds would be in it; but a Disney representative said it will contain new worlds for the franchise; so it will be exciting to see what they do with that.

As for returning worlds; we could expect quite a few, Destiny Islands is a given as its the main world of the three main heroes, Radiant Garden another and even though it was just a quick preview for development; Twilight Town will most likely appear too as it is one of the main worlds now. Atlantica has been in both main titles and may appear again as did Olympus Colesium for all the tournaments.

Based on what we know these worlds could and may most definitely make an appearance
  • Agrabah
  • Enchanted Dominion
  • Castle of Dreams
  • Wonderland
  • Dwarf Woodland
  • Beast’s Castle

These are all the worlds the 6 other princesses of Heart live on; so it would make sense for them to appear here as well. Some of these have multiple movies made of them so they can easily continue the story of the world; such as Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

They could go all out and put all the worlds in as well as new ones; in order to keep the game long if they split it between the two Keyblade Wielders.

It will be interesting to see if they finally add in the Jungle Book world after all this time; with it being cut from practically every KH game made. Two worlds that would be great could be one based off Brave and the other Pocahontis.

Hopefully they will keep a steady stream of information to keep fans alert and happy that the game they have wanted for years is finally on its way.

Pokemon Fairies everywhere!

Finally some more Pokemon X and Y information

We'll start off with the release date; it has been confirmed to be world wide release on 12th October 2013.

Next; two new pokemon

Vivillon the new butterfly; Bug/Flying type Pokemon; comes from Vivid + Papillon; to get Vivillon

The next is Noivern a new dragon pokemon; it is Flying/Dragon type; it used a new move called Boomburst and is Noise + Wyvern to get Noivern

The biggest news though comes from the confirmation of the Fairy type! Now the 18th type in the pokemon world; it is super effective against Dragon so far.

Sylveon, Jigglypuff, Gardevoir and Marill have all been confirmed to be fairy type pokemon.

Sylveon has a move called Moonblast and Gardevoir was shown to use a move called Fairy Wind

A new feature has been put in called Pokemon-amie; this works similar to the Kingdom Hearts Dream, Drop, Distance bonding system; you can pet, feed and and play with your pokemon in this mode. They showed Pikachu and a few others in this feature.

So a lot of interesting things have been shown; its looking to be shaping up to a fantastic generation
